1983 JAPAN Aria Pro II XX Deluxe Flying V 1983 Lightning MIJ Matsumoku

Aria Pro II XX Deluxe V Electric Guitar 1983 MIJ Black/Yellow Lightning Graphic A seriously cool piece of early Japanese metal history. This 1983 Aria Pro II XX Deluxe V is a proper old-school shred machine from the golden era of pointy guitars, built in Japan when Aria were producing some outstanding instruments. The XX series arrived in the early 80s alongside the ZZ and U series models, aimed directly at the exploding hard rock and heavy metal scene of the time. Sharp body shapes, wild graphics and fast necks were the order of the day, and this thing absolutely looks the part. Finished in its original black finish with factory yellow lightning graphic, this one has real stage presence and a vibe that modern reissues just dont capture. It has clearly been played over the years with chips, marks and wear as shown in the photos, particularly around the points and edges, but it still presents brilliantly and feels authentic to the era. The guitar plays great with a comfortable action and sounds exactly how youd want an early 80s Japanese V to sound, punchy, raw and full of attitude. Specifications include: * Alder body * Maple neck * Rosewood fingerboard * 25.5 scale length * 2x Aria Pro II Protomatic-V humbuckers * Master Volume * Master Tone * 3-way selector switch * Strat-style bridge * Gold plated die-cast tuners * Made in Japan, 1983 A few things to note condition-wise. There appears to be some sort of tape or covering around the truss rod area on the headstock. We have not removed this so cannot confirm what is underneath, though it is likely covering an old repair or cosmetic damage. The rear tremolo cavity backplate is also missing. Aside from this, the guitar shows genuine age and play wear throughout with chips, scratches and edge wear consistent with a well-used early 80s instrument, but it remains structurally solid, plays very well and has loads of character. A rare survivor from the golden age of Japanese metal guitars and not something you see every day in the UK. Part of the Chordplay Japan Select range Hand-picked Japanese guitars sourced directly from Japan for players who want something genuinely special.
